Customer Review: Great tool (one minor flaw)

I bought this as a gift for my Dad for Christmas. I already own (and love) its main competitor, Milwaukee's 12v driver so I decided to do a quick side-by-side comparison. In terms of look, size, and performance, the two tools are about as equal as can be. The Milwaukee did seem to drive the 3" screws slightly faster but it was a very small difference. Overall, the two were basically equal in everything except one factor - the mechanism for changing bits. On the Bosch, you pull the chuck straight out to release the bit, but you need to continue holding it out to insert the new bit (basically need two hands). On the Milwaukee, you pull out the chuck and it locks into the open position, then you insert the new bit and it locks into place (only need one hand to do a bit change). For this reason alone, I would rate the Milwaukee just ahead of the Bosch. In any case, I would be thrilled with either.Customer Review: Handy little driver, not a powerhouse, but sweet nonetheless

I have quite a few Bosch tools, they are probably my favorite manufacturer for quality vs. cost. Most of my cordless stuff is 14.4v Nicad. This is my first 12V Lion tool.
Fit and finish are top notch. Nice size, fits well in my hand. Has plenty of power, not nearly as much as my 14.4 impactor, but its not in the same league. Has a nice bright LED worklight, very easy to modulate the speed and torque of the tool. It won't replace an impactor, especially if you plan on driving 3" decking screws for any length of time, but for shorter screws or where you don't need the torque its great. I still haven't ran down the first battery I charged and installed. Gotta love the new lithium ion technology.

I have only owned it for 3 days but so far it is the best drill I have ever owned. The drill is very well balanced, charges very quickly in around 30 minutes. It also comes with a nice case and two batteries which makes it very handy as a full day drill. Contrary to some of the other reviews it is really easy to replace the drill bits and you can do it with one hand. I particularly have found the adjustable clutch useful and has prevented me from stripping out screws like I used to with my old drill. This drill has just replaced my other lithium ion cordless drill and probably my corded drill as well. A+ Bosch.Customer Review: Job is done!
