Tools and Hardware Reviews of Bosch PS20-2A 12-Volt Max Lithium-Ion Pocket Driver with 2 Batteries

Customer Review: LOVE MY TOY!
Summary: 5 Stars

I absolutly love my Bosch screw driver!!!!.... I got the non-impact one to save a little on money... My father has the impact driver and I used his a few times before I purchased mine.... He uses that little impact driver all the time and it has put up with a lot of his jobs....

This fall my father in law put up a pole barn and I brought my driver for of others to use... and I love my driver so much that I made sure to tell everyone to take extra care of it! Anyways the only flaw is that in colder weather the battery drains faster (but I am sure it compares the same to most other batteries)...

Anyways A+++++++

Customer Review: Lightweight Tool
Summary: 3 Stars

I purchased this product to replace a compact B&D compact drill driver. The manufacturer's literature says this will drive 100 3 inch screws on one battery so since I was in the process of building a deck, I decided to put this claim to the test. Before attempting to drive a 2 3/4" deck screw, I pre-drilled through the deck board and into the joist. After attempting to drive one screw at the highest torque setting, I put this tool away. It was very ineffective for this purpose, unable to drive the screw all the way. For comparison, I used an old DeWalt 12v driver, which did drive the deck screw all the way. At another point, while replacing damaged drywall, I again tried to use the Bosch. While somewhat more effective, it still labored to drive the screw into the stud, but did manage to sink the head. It appears that the best use for the Bosch is for light duty in close quarters where a full size drill would be unable to reach. Given the price of $99, it would appear there are better options out there. Anyone looking to buy this as their primary drill should look elsewhere.

Customer Review: Lii-Ion Pocket Driver is a great addition
Summary: 4 Stars

bought one of these gems 2 years ago. First time I heard of Lithium-Ion batteries. It has never failed yet. No other Battery operated drill of mine has lasted this long. It doesn't spin as fast as the bigger drills, but it does the job. I needed a smaller driver to fit in tighter spaces. The view-light is nice, but could be pointed better towards your work. My wife finally saw it last month and loved it, so I got her one. She says it is great! Cannot use regular drill bits, must have the 1/4 male hex end drill bits to work.

Customer Review: Little power house

I have only owned this for about a week, but gave it quite a work out the last two days. I have not yet drained a battery, and I was using it to drill self tapping screws into heavy sheet metal as well as remove and install existing screws. The compact size gets it into tight spots easily. I was able to set the torque easily and istall 16 screws into pre-drilled mdf without overtorquing or stripping a one, yet all were seated firmly.
Don't expect to chuck up a worm bit and bore through 6" of hardwood. However for it's intended purpose- driving screws, it delivers. It is rather slow speed by design but very high torque. The clutch allows you to acuratly repeat the same torque on many screws.
The quick change chuck works flawlessly.
The varible speed is easy to control, and the integrated light comes on as you start to squeeze the trigger but before any motion starts. This allows you to find the screw heads with the bit before screwing them.
The only downside is that it has no onboard bit storage and requires the 1/4" hex bits with the groove. Regular hex bits will fall out, and you cannot chuck up round items such as standard drill bits. So if you do not already have a selection of these bits order them will your drill/driver. This drill/driver is small, compact, is very well built.A heavier than I anticipated, but nothing like my full size battery drill. I am sure this will be in my shop, and my tool belt for years to come.

Customer Review: Lives up to the hype!

This is an amazing driver. As an automechanic, I use my driver many hours during the day. This driver gives amazing torque, while delivering consistent battery power. I recommend this to any professional looking for an alternative to the drivers by other overpriced tool trucks out there.
