Customer Review: Lots of trouble with batteries

I purchased my first Bosch cordless tool on 5/12/2009 and my experince has not been very good. One of the two original batteries failed so Bosch gave me two new replacement batteries. One of the new ones then failed so they sent me a third replacement. Now a third battery has failed. So out of five batteries total, three have failed. They are going to send me yet another battery for a driver that is only 15 months old. I wouldn't buy this tool again.Customer Review: Love it! No question, it is great!

Everything is great about this driver. The only problem I see with my unit is the LED light is not directed at the screw head. A minor issue. The batteries work a long time and the charger does a great job. The charger is a smart charger and is designed to prevent over heating the battery. I had that happen on an older drill unit. As a battery gets older, if not prevented, they can get really hot while recharging. And I really like the case that came with it.Customer Review: My "Goto" Tool

This is a superb portable tool. I use this tool more then any other tool. The wrench free changing of bits is invaluable. I use the drill and screwdriver combination all the time. For instance, recently I installed bunch of handles to kitchen cabinets and also I built a cabinet that used pocket screws (besides the Festool Domino) and this Bosch made it easy. It is light and powerful for light/medium duty work. You may need a more powerful one for heavy duty work. Make sure that the second battery is always recharged to make things easy.

I've used this about a year now and completely love it. I use it all the time. I use it in the garage on the car, in the house hanging curtains, etc., etc., etc. It's got the torque to handle most any job. It also works great on the jobs that don't need a lot of torque but involve long threads (ceiling fan screws, wall plates, etc.) It's so small and light that your arm will not get sore and tired from using it all day they way it can with a heavy drill. I work telecom so for me this gets used for machine screws, but I've used it on an occasion on 3 inch wood screws with the same satisfaction. This is light and compact and runs all day long. I find that the small LED light very helpful for seeing the your work space in a shadow, or even as a small flashlight when you don't feel like running back for a real one. I haven't run into a screw yet where this little guy has given out before the screw has. But just be sure you understand this is a driver not a drill. I've used it as a drill a few times, its OK, but not great. It shines at low RPM and torque not High RPM needed for a drill.
I used it for a good year at my last job, loved it so much my entire group ordered them, I even bought it again at my current job.
My only complaint is the charger.
1. it is huge, larger than the drill itself.
2. it is 110V only and oddly enough the 220 charger is hard to find state side for this German company.
