Tools and Hardware Reviews of Bosch PS20-2A 12-Volt Max Lithium-Ion Pocket Driver with 2 BatteriesCustomer Review: Nice Little Drill for Just About Everything. Summary: 4 Stars
This drill will probably not work as your only drill.
Now that we got that out of the way I hardly ever use my big drill. This drill is so light and convenient I always reach for it first. It will do well with pretty near any bit that will fit in the hex chuck. Very easy to hold and balance. This makes it much easier to drill straight holes at high and otherwise odd angles. It's even comfortable to hang on my belt or in a nail pouch for climbing ladders or moving around a lot. Even my six year old can use this one. The battery has great life too. This one also fits in my standard size tool box. Let's see your 18V do that.
I also love the Impact Driver that matches this and uses the same batteries. I got both in a set.
Customer Review: Perfect for a cabinet shop Summary: 4 Stars
I build custom cabinets so I don't need more than one hurking driver. This thing is great for driving screws into plywood and hardwoods. It starts to have trouble if I'm driving a 3" screw through a cabinet back into studs and the battery is not fully charged. That said, the battery has pretty good life and the weight of this thing will save your wrist and elbow some stress. It doesn't spin quite fast enough to drill holes effectively.
Customer Review: Powerful driver Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using this driver for about 1 1/2 years and still on the original 2 batteries that it came with. I picked up an adapter set so I can fasten socket head cap screws. I use it primarily for driving bolts, 4mm to 10mm snug then I torque with a torque wrench. I also use it for electrical terminal block connections thanks to the variable torque settings. This driver is tough! It has been submerged in hydraulic fluid, dropped from 10ft, dusted with metal grindings and it keeps on working. After the hydraulic fluid incident, I just sprayed WD-40 into the motor area and blow it with compressed air, good-to-go! This driver is small enough to fit in my travel tool case too. I was surprised how much torque it has and it also feels good in my hands. When it finally dies, I will be getting another one without a doubt!
Customer Review: Shine The Light / SIZE "doesn't" really matter!! Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this tool,
as a direct result of "Fellow Furniture Maker Envy".
He's so pleased with his- he's got 3 of em.
One stays in his truck - tucked behind the seat,
and two(?) for the shop.
I looked briefly at getting Milwaukee' equivalent device-
'specially cause my local Milwaukee tool repair shop, where I
happened to be around the Holidays, had them on display.
I think this is a handy/powerful tool.
I just used it to assemble a very large IKEA "Pax" wardrobe,
and it preformed all of the tasks I needed it to.
My only negative comment is a design flaw in the light......
in that I would prefer the light to emanate from around the "chuck" area-
because too often I found the light was not illuminated the screw-head,
but an inch or so below. I think I've seen other designs that use a "Ring" shaped row
of LED's , and to me- that's ideal.
Also- definitely purchase the Bosch Tool kit- the various bits and holders will
surely come in handy on any installation.
It''s hard to believe that there's this much torque and battery life in a compact
tool of this size.
Customer Review: Small Jobs Made Easier Summary: 5 Stars
I am an enthusiastic model airplane builder and flyer, but 65 years of age and hands that aren't as nimble as in years past. The Bosch PS20-2A makes the job a lot more enjoyable handling small drill bits, screws, and other tasks that I am defining as I go. Also, I purchased it at an extremely reasonable price from amazon.com.
