Customer Review: Nice Bit Set! Great Case!

This bit set has a nice assortment of bits that cut very fast for a spade bit. They are sharp and produce clean holes in most woods. The case is very nice and I will be using it for other bits as these wear out. The blades are hard to sharpen, so don't expect to do so unless you have the proper equipment. The wings on the edges are what make them hard to re-sharpen.
These bits will rust if they get wet! I had rain leak into the back of my covered pickup truck and the case got wet and I didn't notice it for a day. Some of the bits that I had already used had rust all over them. The unused ones still had the original oil on them that kept them in good condition. Make sure to keep them dry! The case protects and transports them very well. This set is a good deal if you add up what it would cost to purchase them individually. I will be purchasing a whole new set when the 4 or 5 most used bits sizes get worn in my set.

Unfortunately I can't echo the nice comment already here. I did not have good luck with these. I picked up this exact set at a local big box store and had to take it back the next weekend with broken bit. I was drilling in some old pine joists when the tip jammed and broke off - this was within the first 5 mins of use. Nice idea, but didn't work for me.Customer Review: pulls themselves through wood

The threaded end actually pulls your drill through the work piece. I find that using an impact driver works best and the last 1/4 inch you have to put some pressure on it to break through the wood on account of the threaded tip not having anything to grab on to at the end of a hole. The holes are not too clean, but spade bits never are. This works good in 2 by material.
The case is great.....more tools should come in FLAT cases. It takes up minimal space in my tool bag unlike tool sets with bulky plastic containers. In fact, a big reason I bought this set was because of the flat case design.
I will probably buy more Bosch stuff just because of the well though out cordura flat cases.

This is another excellent Bosch product. About this spade bits,I underline the TIP which is very accurate and reliable. It is not easy to find this type of point in other spade bit brands. Also the price is excellent. I Recomend it.
