I have a lot of tools from the Dewalt 18V line (like pringles, once you pop, you can't stop buying more 18V tools since you've "already got the batteries"), and am used to the size and heft of those drills. When I opened the box for this 12V drill, I was surprised to find something this small - it doesn't come across from the pictures, but this thing is half the size, at most, of the smallest 18V Dewalt drill (the DC720KA Compact Drill/Driver).
Despite it's small size, it has good trigger action, good torque, and a good clutch that makes this drill perfect for fairly tough driving applications in tight spaces (like installing a bracket for hanging in-line water filters underneath your kitchen sink, as I did). Like all the Dewalt tool / battery kits I've bought, it comes with two batteries, so you can charge one while using the other. The battery doesn't last as long as the full size 18V batteries (no surprise there, since this battery is 1/3 the size), but it lasts long enough for a charge one / use one approach to keep you drilling and driving all day (assuming you're not putting together a deck, or doing some other contractor-sized job).
Highly recommended, with the only caveat being that you'll start wanting to buy more of the 12V tools since now you "already got the batteries."
