Tools and Hardware Reviews of DEWALT DW920K-2 1/4-Inch 7.2-Volt Cordless Two-Position Screwdriver KitCustomer Review: A Real Professional Screwdriver! Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best Cordless Screwdriver I have ever seen. Everything else out their is built for the consumer. This one is built for the professional. With this tool, you get two batteries, for continuous run time. It has the power and torque to be used as a screwdriver and a drill. A must have for every contractor!
Customer Review: A Screwdriver that can Drill Too Summary: 5 Stars
I got this Screwdriver for my partner this past Christmas and he loves it. Right now he is tearing down and reconfiguring our kitchen cabinets and cannot tell me enough times how glad he is that I got this for him. Some the reviews I read talked about the bit falling out, he has not had this happen once. I even asked him about it and he has no idea how they can. The bits are locked into place and you have to pull down on the head of the driver for the bit to release.
He decided to get some De Walt drill bits that fit the screwdriver and wow! Why this item is not tagged as a drill too, I have no idea. He has used small drill bits to predrill the cabinets before applying the screws.
This item has been used five weekends in a row and it still going strong. It has even reduced the number of times I have had to assist him with various things because he can easily maneuver the screwdriver to fit his current position thanks to the adjusting head.
Customer Review: A definate handy tool! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought my DeWalt DW920K two months ago after my Black & Decker Pivot Driver broke down. The DeWalt has a 16 position clutch which is extremely useful when either inserting or removing screws, nuts, or other fasteners. Being about a 1/3 longer than the Pivot driver, and just a few ounces heavier, I find that the differences in size and weight are minor. The tool has a variable speed switch which makes it easy to start screws. The switch is also oversized for use with gloves on. The only caveat with this tool is the location of the forward/reverse switch, which I feel should be redesigned to the likes of the Black & Decker Pivot Driver. With the DW920K coming with a 1 hour charger, 2 batteries, a carrying case and 2 bits, I find the Dewalt well worth the investment.
Customer Review: A great screwdriver........but Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this screwdriver at my local HD for around a $100.00 about six or seven years ago. I was tired of using light duty "junk" cordless screwdrivers and wanted a quality tool. As the other reviewers have so astutely related the characteristics this tool, it is a great screwdriver. I would also add that it also will double as a light duty drill for drilling "small" holes in materials other than metal. I probably use this tool more than any other power tool that I have. About four years into using the tool it started to run erraticlly when I would change position from angled to vertical. I attributed it to a short somewhere in the "elbow". after a few months of this the tool quit working all together. I was very disappointed as the failure with a DeWalt tool was unexpected, however sh-- happens. Another disappointment was when I couldn't find my reciept to prove purchase and couldn't remember excatly when I had purchased it. I took it too a local DeWalt service facility and explained the situation. DeWalt fixed it (rebuilt) at no charge! Nice to have a company stand behind their product. It has worked flawlessly ever since. Recently the 7.2V batteries have begun to fail so I started looking to replace them. As it turns out by the time I buy two new batteries, for another $17.00 I can buy a whole NEW complete kit. Too bad the batteries are so overpriced. On the otherhand for a mere $17.00 over the price of two new batteries I'm going to get a whole new screwdriver, charger and case with free shipping and no sales tax, obviously a no-brainer. You can't beat a deal like that, thanks Amazon!
Customer Review: A heck of a screwdriver Summary: 5 Stars
It has major battery power, and a clutch that works great! I use mine on machine screws (most very short), and I'll do 550-600 on a single charge w/ no slow down. Not as much speed as the drills, but it is still quick, with less weight. The two batteries and quick charger will keep you working. I'd recommend the folding bit case, a 2" magnetic bit holder, a 3" bit (or two), and a set of mini-sockets.
