Tools and Hardware Reviews of the Makita DA3010F 4 Amp 3/8-Inch Right Angle Drill with LED LightTool Review: still made in Japan Summary: 5 Stars
I received this item about a month ago from Amazon, but have not put it to use until very recently. When I first received this drill, the first thing I looked for was, where it was made. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this drill is still made in Japan. It is very well constructed and feels good in the hand, with or without the supplied handle. The motor sounds strong and has the sound of precision. I love the fact that it has an LED light, making it very useful in tight dark spaces.
This past weekend I finally put it to the test doing a wiring project on my house. Once again the DA3010F did not disappoint. It's powerful motor was about to drill a 3/4 inch whole through a 6x2 and 1 inch plywood together and it did so with extreme precision. Not once did the motor bog down. This was an area between two floor joists above an invading concrete wall. Not to mention, there was no splintering what so ever. This would have been impossible to duplicate with a normal drill, especially getting it to drill at a perfect 90 degree angle to the surface.
I love the sound, the precision, the build quality and especially the LED light. The trigger is well designed as well. It takes some getting use to if you are used to using
a normal drill.
